How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Great flex working policy, only mandating 2-3 days per week. leaders are really flexible about what days you go in and what offices you attend

Very flexible - worked 2 days in the office and 3 from home.

It is flexible and i am currently happy but with expanding return to office mandates are worrying to flexibility.

Good work life balance, able to log off and enjoy activities outside of work. wellbeing days extended from 2-4.

I rarely do more than 38 hours; these can be flexible if needed - the rule of thumb is as long as you get the work done, you won't need to be micromanaged. there is no issue ducking out for an appointment, picking up children or starting/finishing early. hybrid arrangement is work in office 2 days and wfh 3 days. in office can be any corporate site so i'm often split between central sydney and kogarah office (as second is closer to home).

Relatively standard 8.30-5.30 hours with the expectation that you work longer if needed. very flexible with the hours but dependent on teams, able to come in later and leave later if suits your schedule more. as long as the work gets done, teams often don't regulate the hours you work. especially as a grad, they are very cognisant to ensure we aren't overworked. i have had a few long weeks when on deals and work has to be done.

Flexible in terms of locations. somewhat flexible in terms of start and end times, however 8.30-5 is the standard expectation.

Whilst it varies from team to team, the level of flexibility in hours is very good. you always have the option to work from home if you would prefer as well.

Work life balance is amazing

Very flexible. we are quite a social firm, so it is nice to have people in the office, but we are also flexible and can work from home etc.

2 days in office 3 from home

My personal team being located across states allows for greater flexibility in where we work from. due to the nature of the role, we can be out of the office a lot and as such work needs to be done remotely.

9-5, occasionally a few hours over if a project deadline is approaching or a problem has popped up. Generally flexible with 'balancing out' your hours, and the focus is on 'getting done what you say you will' rather than making sure you're at your desk from 9-5.

I have never had a supervisor refuse a reasonable request to work flexibly.
Graduate, Sydney - 03 Dec 2021
Reasonable working hours

Very flexible, but depends on your manager
Graduate, Sydney - 30 Nov 2021
I work too many hours, however this is largely my own choice. I like to get things done.
Midlevel, Adelaide - 18 Nov 2021
Flexible and depends on the team you are working on. I usually worked 9-5.30 when in the office and no one paid mind if you arrive earlier/later. Team does not mind if you need to leave early/come late due to an appointment. When WFM, I would normally work 8.30-5 and from what I've seen, manager does not keep an eagle eye on your hours and if you give them notice/reason, can always leave early/log on late.

Westpac's overall approach is highly flexible towards when your hours are worked, although some teams (eg customer facing teams) are expected to work typical business hours. Transparency and communication with a manager on hours is key.
