Salary at Westpac Group

Our base pay can be higher than other banks, but key to note since the banking royal commission, most roles under 100k now days dont have bonuses attached. whilst that means we are guaranteed higher pay from the start, some people may not like that we dont have this bonus structure

I am satisfied with my graduate pay, however comparing it to other grads in the same company can be deflating. sydney is an expensive place to live. i haven't been exposed to bonuses as a grad.

Don't get bonuses, which should be re-introduced

I think there isn't much uniformity when rolling off and i have no idea if we are entitled to a bonus. i have heard its good but just lack of information. i like the push for pay transparency.

The base pay for specialised roles is quite good; however, some roles can fall under industry averages. as for bonuses, it is variable and given on a bellcurve within a team (e.g. top 10% in team get full bonus, bottom 10% get a small portion of it) - issue with this is some managers aren't willing to identify high and low performers and so give all an equal bonus, giving no meaning to hitting any goals. employee share plan also gives ~$1000 in unvested shares to each employee each year of employment.

Can be difficult to get pay rises and bonuses in my department aren't always promised

Pay as a grad is fantastic, however unsure after rolling of the grad program how competitive it is in market. bonuses are non-existent as a grad and still relatively small after rolling off.

Bonuses not allowed for graduates. pay is competitive.

Compared to my peers outside the company i feel i am compensated well.

Westpac grad salaries are higher than other grad programs. Variable bonuses are not applicable to us - we all got a fixed bonus.

Difficult to comment as graduates have their own salary structure.

My pay is very good for my level of expertise. From my previous full time job 1 year ago, my pay has gone up almost 40%

Great starting salary, $1000 shares for the year end. Although I do have some uncertainty about salary progression when rolling off - not sure what to expect.

Unlcear bonus structure. I would also like if there was more clarity about the payscale for roles in the company. Grad salary is actually pretty good but could always be better.

Pay is good and in line with market. Bonuses are gradually being phased out which may annoy some.

We have the best mydiscounts site with car discounts, i bought heaps of stuff discounted from jbhifi and even discounted insurances. we get our insurances (sci & tpd) paid for us by westpac as part of our superannuation.

I think the gender affirmation leave policies are really stand out across industry, unsure of much other besides cheaper experiences. free credit card to.

Christmas lunches.

Discount portal for shopping/bills, but being a bank, discounted loan rates, no account fees and higher savings interest rate. generous leave policies, especially for maternity, and 2 extra annual leave days (that don't roll over each year).

Home loan benefits (no lmi >10% deposit). superannuation fees waived. many bank account fees waived + extra interest.

The extra leave days are really nice, having extra leave days for volunteering and personal wellbeing allow me to be involved with opportunities outside of work such as presenting at my old school / uni.
