A lot of admin work - booking meetings, writing minutes, making presentation packs, liaising with eas to organise higher-ups attendance. a lot of work is given to you that others in the team would rather not do - the important thing is to have a good attitude regardless of how passionate you are about it as that attitude is what people will talk about when you roll off/apply for internal roles.

Changes with each team i am in. typically, i have had supporting roles, where i assist other experienced people and learn from them as i complete the tasks. the workload is not too stressful, however, if i have little to do i can always ask for more.

I am a solicitor just approaching 1 year pqe. i have day-to-day conduct of smaller matters, and have a supporting role on larger matters. i correspond with and advise clients, draft documents (including pleadings) for court, i carry out research, assist in the preparation of discovery, and instruction of experts. i have attended an arbitration and mediation and have appeared in the district court and high court. i have given oral submissions in court.
