Corporate Social Responsibility at Westpac Group

We give away thousands each year through westpac scholars, westpac foundation grants and smaller grants via our regional foundations. most people don't know westpac is the biggest donator out of all the 4 major banks

1x volunteering leave day, a few foundations within the company, fundraisers and tons of opportunities to get involved in fundraising and volunteering. matched donations for certain not for profits.

I notice people thinking about how their decisions will impact customers which is great.

Continuous acknowledgement of csr responsibilities and trainings. personally, i cannot comment as i have not seen any issues firsthand.

Due to privacy and sensitive a lot of what the bank does can't be shared publicly but from what i have seen, the amount of work and the outcomes achieved from customers and the community from within the bank is incredible and is something that makes me proud to tell people where i work.

I don't know much about Westpac's CSR, but there is a focus on sustainability (especially with BT Investing) and reducing waste in our corporate sites, and Westpac also tries to use Australian Suppliers for everything on site.

ESG

Social responsibility is constantly considered. Commitments and various initiatives towards environmental sustainability, anti corruption, anti trafficking etc. Investment into different foundations, scholarships etc. Huge investment into financial literacy initiatives in the community; I worked on a program for scam awareness and integrating scam prevention into branch networks.

This year I have experienced a number of CSR events run on many different levels of the Bank. From sponsored and graduate run seminars that focus on sustainable investing, all the way up to company wide seminars that discussed child protection in response to the SBS release of The Children in the Pictures.

Committments to supporting and financing green businesses

We have a strong focus on ESG including upskilling all employees. We have human rights and sector specific position statements and are actively considering climate change risk in our financing decisions.

Other than mandatory training to satisfy APRA and ASIC standards theres only one campaign that stands out. the "Can we and should we" campaign where before every decision we need to consider this phrase.
