Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
Westpac is a huge ecosystem, of 35,000 people and positions. its all about growing your network outside your immediate team if you are looking to move across in the organisation, leaders are supportive when you have clear goals and are transparent in your aspirations

I haven't rolled off/been promoted, however as i am looking to continue into a role that is different to the program, i have found that slightly challenging. i have a pretty negative view as to whether i will end up in the role/line of business that i want to, however i have been reassured that if i stay where i am i should be fine getting a role there. i have seen people get promoted and move up the ranks, and graduates are able to do it a lot easier than non-graduates from the looks of things.

Still yet to get a promotion in current role, but changing roles within westpac can provide slight increases!!

Cant speak to much on this. i understand previous cohort had some trouble during the roll off and i'm unsure of career progression and the rate of promotions

To move up the ranks, you need to show deliverables, a commitment to making the team/company better and a willing attitude. once you hit consultant/senior, it is much harder to progress without leaving the company and returning.

Promotion and career progression can be difficult due to funding constraints and in some cases it can be difficult for graduates to get promotions and pay rises

Promotion and career progression depends on how hard you work but seems like there is great career progression for juniors.

The opportunities are very good, however they are somewhat limited by the significantly smaller footprint in melbourne compared with sydney

A can-do attitude is what i found my managers have that makes them be able to move up the ranks. being able to manage the expectations of stakeholders

One thing that sets wotton+kearney apart is the fact that it is an international firm with offices across australia and in singapore. it also has many links to the uk market, and particularly to london. many people have obtained excellent opportunities overseas due to wotton+kearney's global connections.

It is hard being a grad in risk trying to roll off into a permanent position after the program. i feel as if they need to have specific job roles for grads to apply for post graduate program as opposed to applying to any job and hoping for the best. especially if they've spent a rotation with the team they wish to find a position in.
Graduate, Sydney - 20 Sep 2024
I had multiple opportunities for roles post grad program and i have a wide array of opportunities i can progress into including a direct progression within my current team.

Career progression seems to rely on networking at Westpac - it is very relationships driven. Managers support you in creating development plans so that you can work towards your next role/promotion.

Big company, lots of room to grow and different opportunities
Graduate, Sydney - 30 Nov 2021
Promotion possibilities are somewhat limited as the hierarchy is very steep (I am 3 steps away from State General Manager), however there is opportunities to move sideways
Midlevel, Adelaide - 18 Nov 2021
Wide range of opportunities to move in, however I am not sure if once rolling off, if there is a direct/many opportunities to move up in the ranks. Many "senior" type of people do not have senior-esque roles.
