I assist with the audit process - testing various FSLIs, conducting sampling, reporting on the processes of the business

Typical days consist of drafting Income tax compliance and financial statement workpapers for Small to Medium Organisations. This usually means preparing Financials and tax returns for the primary Cash generating entity and flowing this through the group structure to the individuals who own/operate the group and preparing their individual income tax return as well.

I check emails and organise my day then I start looking through my MS or what I left of the day before and get straight into work. Ask questions when unsure. responsibilities involve making sure I have all the right workpapers, supporting documents and I am processing client work as best as I can before sending off to review.

I enjoy doing my work, and I am always learning new things. I enjoy coming to the office as the work environment is good and we have a nice office. I feel comfortable asking others for help as my team is always ready to help. At this stage, due to the low level of experience, us graduates have some days with very low amount of work, but I do understand it will change once we know everything we have to do.

Little exposure as an undergraduate, and feedback on work is not always given. Training felt a little bit rushed.

Check email, do the work that is assigned to us. Including performing audit procedures.

Doing the expected grad sections of an audit, such as cash, employee compensation, payables etc.

General tax compliance, tax planning, admin tasks

In my daily work, I focus on completing workpapers and analysing clients' financial statement line items. This includes conducting testing to verify the accuracy of elements such as the existence of cash balances and the accuracy of revenue transactions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

I like how we are always building on our learn day to day. I can constantly feel myself improving on things I may have struggled with at the start.

Tax

As a graduate, my day-to-day responsibilities range from: Meetings with clients, testing key controls, managing an RCM (risk control matrix)

As an Audit and Assurance associate, day to day operations consist of taking the time to understand the client's business operations, industry and environment. Picking out samples and conducting testing of controls and substantive tests.

Set up work papers, create samples and vouch

As an associate in Risk Consulting, my role is to perform internal audits on a number of different areas for our clients. My typical day-to-day responsibilities when performing an internal audit review is to review documents, undertake a risk and control matrix, perform client walkthroughs and interviews, and report on potential findings that arise from each review.

Ad lib task alongside compliance

Busy, challenging but can learn a lot

Day to day responsibilities can involve working on projects (M&A, valuations, IER's, DD) trying to win work (proposals). These tasks generally involve financial data analysis, report writing and data presentation.
