Management at EY Australia

7.8
7.8 rating for Management, based on 28 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
With the exception of one manager, my experience has been good. The vast majority of managers I have worked under are good people who care about associates and seniors. They want to see us succeed because that makes the team and them look good - and they are well chosen leaders/people.

My managers have been pretty accessible however at times when they are overloaded with work it can be a bit difficult to get assistance. However there has to be a balance as they also have their own priorities, but I do think that training someone else should be factored into their work allocation and allow for the managers to have more time to teach. They are very knowledgeable. What could be improved is increased informal feedback and it being a priority for the manager to bring up and not just the person that wants feedback. Praise and recognition could also be increased as it is important for motivation.

Very accessible. Managers are always willing to help with getting on new projects, career advice, and anything else you need assistance with. EY has formal ways to obtain feedback, and along with this, you are also able to simply send a message/email or have an in-person meeting to see what you've done well and where you can improve.

Managers provide invaluable advice and feedback to ensure strong professional development. However, due to high workloads are often unavailable (this is unavoidable).

Can vary, but overall there is a big emphasis on mentoring and coaching and there are plenty of opportunities to do so. The firm is receptive to authentic conversations that promote trusted transparent relationships, but varies on a case by case business based on the individuals.

Managers can be demanding and if there's a deadline - unreasonable.
