Pay is appropriate and I don't receive a bonus
Graduate, Melbourne - 13 Sep 2024
There is a lot of uncertainty around pay for graduates when rolling off into a non-graduate role, and the way some contracts have been handled (what the line manager is confident about vs. What is actually approved) it seems there is a big variance in expected salary.

Graduates are on graduate salaries for the duration of the 2-year graduate program. Whilst the pay can be considered slightly above average for graduate roles, we have a cap on our 'roll-off pay' which was not made very clear to me prior to starting my graduate journey here

Again, there is nuance to my response here. As far as graduate pay goes, the grads at coles get paid quite well. The issue I have is related to the pay caps I mentioned earlier. I understand having a graduate roll off into a higher salary so early in their career means that from a business perspective they are going to become very expensive long term, but I still believe hard capping everyone's pay is not a great solution. Also, more transparency around pay is needed.

As a grad, we don't get any bonuses. There is a pay rise in the second year of the program, however this wasn't super transparent and was almost missed at the start of the year. There's not a lot of transparency in terms of pay bands, but the coles grad program has a rather competitive pay.

I get the average pay that a graduate normally receives, however it is higher than it is at the big 4 or mid-tier companies. From what I have heard from other employees, bonuses are pretty good at coles, however as graduate, I don't believe we get them (not sure if this is right).

They’ve practically purchased my soul.

Good pay for grad program

It would be great if bonuses were available based on performance reviews by our line managers. So far, I am happy with my current pay and look forward to it increasing.

No one is ever satisfied with their pay is my personal opinion and grads don't get bonuses. Overall, pay is good if you live at home with your parents. But for a grad level, it is good.

Pay is fine for a grad in a non-technical role, obviously wouldn't mind getting more but I appreciate what it is

Graduate pay is fair compared to other companies

We know our pay plan for 2 years as grads. Roll off pay is capped for 6 months.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Sep 2024
Pay is very good compared to other companies, as a graduate I am very happy with the salary of the graduate program. Would be great to have pay transparency of the roll-off salary.

I think it's very reasonable for a graduate programme with incremental increases

I have no information on how bonuses work at the company.
I think the pay is fair.

I understand our pay is one of the best across graduate programs. However it is frustrating that our tfc includes super, so my take home pay isn't actually what is 'advertised'. Grads aren't eligible for bonuses. There is also confusion and uncertainty around our pay within the company once we finish the program.

Pay is pretty average for a first-year graduate, 75k but it goes up to 85k in your second year which I think is really good and then again when you roll off the program.

The company embrace work life balance. Graduate pay is standard.
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Sep 2024
As a graduate the pay is really good and better than other grad programs I've seen and heard of. There isn't an opportunity for bonuses as a graduate at coles.
