Assisting with, and originating / checking engineering and non-engineering documents (calcs, datasheets, drawings, etc.)

Providing drafting and modelling for a range of projects, attending project meetings, minute taking, responding to internal emails, occasionally external emails, providing software support, coordinating internal teams, providing specialist advice for projects and bids

Super diverse, have been lucky enough to contribute to a wide range range of projects conducting a wide range of tasks. When you start, you'll likely have reasonably mundane tasks but as you build familiarity with the processes and rapport with project managers you will quickly get more challenging and interesting work.

My roles can vary from 3d modelling, to drafting, to reviewing documentation and drawing packages, creating presentations, producing graphics for reports

My role as a Grad LA is most translatable to a drafter or landscape technician. Alot of the documentation (monotonous tasks) are assigned to graduates obviously because we are cheaper and it takes the longest. Day to day there is SOME interaction with clients but this is quite rare.

I have a variety of projects and tasks spread across my days / weeks which keep me engaged / challenged.

As a water resource engineer I work on: - Hydrology and Hydraulics - Utilise GIS systems - Develop technical study reports

My time at Aecom has mostly been working with modifying and checking drawings. I would like to have had more experience with the technical side of things and calculations. I have enjoyed learning about technical software such as PowerCad and Lighting Software.

When in the office I ask around for work and assist in completing reports, and data entry.

Writing reports and presenting at meetings

Day to day responsibilities include elements of design work and modelling using various software. Some small amounts of report writing.

I take care of team organization. Progress reports on a small and large scale, site visits and identifying issues and general assistance.

Working on large projects you get funneled into a specific task for a long time, quite repetitive after a while

I enjoy the variability in the work, from highly technical and detail oriented to big picture projects with a variety of clients

Day to Day roles are a bit different than what I wanted to pursue, however, at AECOM you always have the opportunity to try new things and move around.

Managing budgets, meetings, emails and engineering discussions

As a graduate, I am gradually being integrated into the company's daily project management responsibilities. I handle smaller tasks while working alongside project managers, gaining familiarity with their roles and responsibilities. Additionally, I support other departments and business lines, which helps me build confidence and experience.

Spending time on multiple projects simultaneously, you are always playing all the roles of a project in the same week. It involves a good amount of time learning what you need to do, team meetings, client meetings, and working on the task at hand. Definitely a lot of big projects and meaningful action.

Energy team graduate responsibilities include Transmission line design works, rectification on design softwares like pls CADD and AutoCAD

I'm happy enough in my role but I have expressed a few times about my desire to move to other teams. I never chose to do drainage but I was placed there by HR.
